Fun Fact: In 1845 Nicole’s 6th great uncle, Francis Pettygrove, won the famous coin toss against Asa Lovejoy, giving Portland its name. Pettygrove was from Portland, ME and Lovejoy from Boston, MA. The name was decided when Pettygrove won two out of three coin tosses. The famous Portland Penny can be found today at the Oregon Historical Society.
